About Nerve

Nerve is an independent audio software development studio.

Behind Nerve is a developer and musician with a passion for synthesis and sound design. Every plugin is built from scratch by studying original schematics, datasheets, and service manuals, modeling the electronic components that give analog machines their character.

The first instrument, The-One, is a study of the Sequential Circuits Pro-One, one of the most iconic monophonic synthesizers ever created and incidentally yours truly’s favorite. Every CEM chip, every OTA stage, every non-linearity has been carefully modeled in an attempt to capture the raw, living sound of the original.

The second, Magnetar, is a drone and sound-sculpture machine: six voices drifting on their own, a Polivoks filter with teeth, and enough modulation to get lost in for a long time.
