Privacy
Nerve collects as little data as possible: only what is needed to sell you an instrument, send you your license and answer you. This page explains what, why and for how long, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Data controller

Data collected
Purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe. Nerve receives your name, email address, billing country and order details; your card details are never passed on to us.
License. Your name and a license number are written into your license key, which is sent to you by email. The license is checked offline: the instruments send no data.
Contact and newsletter. If you write to Nerve, your email address and message are kept in order to answer you. If you ask to receive the newsletter, your email address is added to the mailing list, only to announce new instruments and updates; you can unsubscribe at any time with a simple email.
Downloads. The installers are hosted on GitHub: when you download them, your IP address is sent to GitHub, as with any web request.
Browsing. The site uses no cookies and no advertising. Audience measurement is provided by Plausible Analytics, a cookie-free tool hosted in the European Union, which collects no personal data and does not follow you across sites: it counts page views and a few anonymous actions (opening the checkout, powering on the playable preview, starting and finishing the guided tour). The host keeps technical logs (IP address, date, requested page) to run and secure the site. The playable preview of the instruments runs entirely in your browser: nothing you play is sent anywhere.
Purposes and legal bases
Performance of the contract (sale, license delivery, support); legal obligations (accounting, invoicing); legitimate interest (site security, answering your messages, anonymous audience measurement); consent (newsletter). No data is sold or used for advertising.
Recipients
Your data is only shared with the service providers strictly required: Stripe (payment), Resend (license email delivery), Netlify (hosting), GitHub (installer hosting), Proton (contact mailbox) and Plausible Analytics (audience measurement, European Union). Some of them may process data outside the European Union; these transfers are covered by the safeguards provided by the GDPR (European Commission standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework).
Retention periods
Purchase and billing data: the period required by accounting and tax obligations. License information: as long as the license can be used, so it can be sent to you again. Messages: the time needed to handle your request, then three years at most. Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. Technical logs: a few weeks.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data. To exercise these rights, write to contact@nerve-audio.com: you will get an answer within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country (in France, the CNIL).
